These black bean burgers are a meatless wonder—tasteful, filling, and hearty! They are ideal for both vegetarians and burger lovers because they are high in protein, seasoned with smoky spices, and pan-fried to a crispy perfection. For the perfect bite, stuff them full of juicy tomato and creamy avocado.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Using a potato masher or fork, mash the black beans in a big bowl, preserving some chunks for texture.
  2. Add the egg, salt, pepper, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, breadcrumbs, onion, corn, and cilantro. Stir until all ingredients are combined.
  3. Form the mixture into four patties of the same size.
  4. A non-stick skillet should be heated to medium heat. If desired, add a tiny bit of oil.
  5. The patties should be cooked through and golden brown after 5 to 7 minutes on each side of the skillet.
  6. In the same skillet, toast the burger buns for one to two minutes, or until they are just beginning to crisp up.
  7. Layer a patty, lettuce, tomato, and avocado on top of each bun to construct your burgers.
